Step 1

Discovery call/meeting

What happens:

  • We take the time to understand the challenges you’re facing - whether it’s planning for retirement, struggling to find new partners, managing burnout, dealing with property concerns, or handling the daily stress of running a practice.
  • We also explore your vision for the future. Would you prefer a salaried role? How many sessions per week would you like to work? Are there any areas of specialist interest you’ve always wanted to pursue? We help explore your vision for the future.

Your role: Share your aspirations and challenges.

Our promise: An open, zero obligation discussion about your options.

Step 2

Tailored proposal

What happens:

  • Based on the learnings in our discovery call, we present a zero obligation custom proposal document outlining how Archvale can help.
  • The proposal outlines what your future could look like, including areas such as salary range, weekly session patterns, property commercials, job role and a timeline controlled by you.
  • You also have a chance to speak with other partners who have been through the process.

Your role: Review the proposal, speak to other partners, provide feedback, and collaborate with us to refine it.

Our promise: A transparent and fair proposal tailored to your needs and priorities.

Step 3

Heads of Terms

What happens:

  • Once we’ve collaborated to finalise the proposal, we draft a Heads of Terms document. This document is not legally binding - it simply outlines the agreed-upon terms and forms the foundation for moving forward.
  • The Heads of Terms ensures clarity and alignment, giving you confidence in the process before any formal agreements are made. Importantly, you remain in control - you can pause or walk away at any point if you feel unsure or need more time.

Your role: Review the Heads of Terms and share any concerns or questions. Ensure you’re comfortable with everything before proceeding.

Our promise: A transparent, non-binding framework to guide the next steps, ensuring you feel comfortable and in control every step of the way.

Step 4

Transition plan

What happens:

  • We collaborate on a transition plan, covering staff onboarding, operational handovers, and patient communication.
  • We address every detail to minimise disruption for staff and patients.

Your role: Finalise the plan with us.

Our promise: A detailed roadmap to ensure a seamless transition.

Step 5

Seamless handover

What happens:

  • Archvale assumes responsibility for daily operations, including HR, compliance, and administration.
  • Your practice gains access to centralised support, innovative technology, and economies of scale.

Your role: You choose if you want to step back entirely or remain involved in your preferred capacity. Enjoy peace of mind knowing your practice is in trusted hands

Our promise: A seamless handover that protects your practice’s reputation and continuity.

Have any questions?

We've answered the questions we often get below.

What happens to my patients and staff?

We prioritise continuity of care for patients and retention of your valued team. Clear communication, robust training, and ongoing support ensure a smooth transition for everyone involved.

Will I lose my identity as a GP?

Not at all. Many GP partners choose to stay involved in their practice, whether part-time or in an advisory role. If you choose to step back entirely, we ensure your practice’s values and identity remain intact.

How long does the process take?

The typical transition takes 3 to 6 months, depending on the size and complexity of your practice. Our team handles the details so you can focus on what matters most.

What if my practice has financial challenges?

We specialise in turning around struggling practices, ensuring stability and long-term success.

Will there be any disruption to patient services during the transition?

Our priority is minimising disruption. We implement a step-by-step transition plan that ensures patients experience uninterrupted care.

What happens if my practice has outdated technology or processes?

We modernise operations using our technology platform and processes, bringing your practice in line with modern healthcare standards while ensuring a smooth transition.

Can Archvale handle property-related transitions?

Yes, if you own your practice premises, we can assist with the sale or management of the property as part of the transition process.

What happens if I change my mind partway through the process?

We understand circumstances can change. You have the flexibility to revisit your options at any point before the transition is finalised.

How does Archvale ensure compliance with NHS guidelines?

Our team has extensive experience navigating NHS regulations, ensuring that all transitions meet required standards and protocols.

Do I need to notify patients about the transition?

We take care of patient communications, crafting clear and reassuring messages to explain the transition and highlight the benefits for them.

Can I discuss the transition process with other GPs who have partnered with Archvale?

Of course! We can connect you with other GP partners who have gone through the transition to share their experiences and insights.
